| The Youth Team You will be working in the Youth Team. This is one of the teams within the social services sector. The Youth Team serves as the point of entry for care services for residents in the area of youth services. The team consists of 20 collegial, motivated, and dedicated employees, including the Youth front office, youth counselors, Youth policy officers, Youth practice support staff at the general practitioners’ offices, a behavioral scientist, and a legal quality assurance officer. We work hard in our team and the pressure can be high at times, but it’s also a friendly environment and we look out for one another. |
| What will you be doing? The Youth Consultant focuses on the development and safety of children and the environment in which they grow up. The Youth Consultant coordinates care that centers on the needs of the youth and their family. You tailor the goals and interventions for all family members and across all areas of life and monitors progress. We use a broad concept of safety that prioritizes the child’s long-term developmental prospects. When managing safety, we use the Signs of Safety approach, in which staff work in partnership to create safety for the child. For youth assistance requests, Signs of Wellbeing is an approach we aim to apply more consciously. Together with the parents and the youth, you assess what help or support is needed. In doing so, we build on their own strengths and, where possible, utilize their own network or rely on contracted and/or primary care services, or a combination thereof. In a crisis, you are able to assess the situation appropriately and handle it effectively. Within your own caseload, you are primarily responsible for access to and referral for youth services; you analyze and assess the request for help and determine whether an unsafe situation exists. If necessary, you will refer the case to the compulsory care framework. We believe it is important that, in addition to your regular duties, there is also room to participate in team development and that your input contributes to sustainable changes in the social sector. |
| Who are we looking for? We are looking for a meticulous, proactive, and results-oriented colleague with strong communication skills. You are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are capable of collaborating closely with other disciplines within the social services sector and youth support providers. You can handle resistance and professional differences, and mediate in cases of conflicting interests and disputes. In addition, the following is important:
It is highly desirable that the consultant be available during the summer vacation. |
