Within our Real Estate and Infrastructure team, we handle a wide range of tasks. These include policy-related, advisory, project-based, operational, and support activities.
We do this in the areas of real estate, land affairs, sports facility and building management, civil engineering, mobility, and public works oversight.
The team also handles both large and small infrastructure projects. In addition to the Real Estate and Infrastructure clusters, several other policy areas are represented, such as traffic, street cleaning, green spaces, and waste management.

As a medium-sized municipality (approx. 380 employees), you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in all aspects of the field. As a municipality, we cover a large area with many beautiful villages and rural regions. In addition, there’s the town of Coevorden, with a rich history and a lively market square where life is good. Coevorden is also home to many entrepreneurs and a cross-border business park. So it’s definitely a challenging environment!
The team
You will serve as a traffic engineer. You will translate traffic engineering challenges into design solutions, from start to finish. You will also work with data, improve traffic safety in the infrastructure, and promote sustainable mobility, including charging infrastructure. In addition, you will support the development of new policies in the field of mobility and the implementation of existing policies. Our Mobility Plan and Implementation Program form the basis for this work.
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues. You’re open to stakeholders’ plans or initiatives and can incorporate them into your spatial design. You’ll be part of work and project groups. You’ll contribute ideas, participate actively, and be able to draft memos and notes regarding the tasks you’re working on.
Who are we looking for?
You can work independently and have a good sense of the dynamics and responsibilities within government organizations. You are proactive, creative, and team-oriented. You are flexible and willing to take on other tasks when necessary, and you can convincingly win people over to your design. Naturally, you are familiar with the CROW guidelines.
You take responsibility for the results of your work, and planning and organizing it comes easily to you. You’re not afraid to think outside the box and involve your colleagues in your ideas. In doing so, you recognize the strong connection between policy, theory, and practice.
Our ideal candidate has at least 3–5 years of experience and has completed at least a vocational education (MBO) program in traffic engineering, civil engineering, or a comparable field.
