Role description and task arrangements

Refugee Shelter Site Manager(s) – 32 to 36 hours per week
 

  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Hours: 32–36 hours per week (if 20 or 24 hours are available, this is subject to consultation with the municipality) 
  • Working hours: 7:30 a.m.–10:20 p.m. (2 shifts)
  • Duration: Childcare will be provided at least through March 2027, with the possibility of extension
  • Based on: Temporary staffing
  • Maximum rate: € 42.00
  • Number of placements: 2
 

We are seeking two dedicated and proactive site managers for the Municipality of Coevorden to assist with the reception of Ukrainian refugees. In this role, you will make a tangible contribution to the safety, stability, and well-being of people who have been forced to leave their homes. You will work in an environment where you make a direct social impact—day in and day out.


What will you do?

As a facility manager, you are responsible for ensuring a well-organized, safe, and pleasant environment. You will:

  • Keeps track of day-to-day operations at the site.
  • It is the first point of contact for residents regarding practical and social matters.
  • Encourages residents to be self-reliant and take control of their own lives.
  • Actively contributes to a positive and safe atmosphere at the site.
  • Identifies issues and takes immediate action in the event of an incident.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and various partners in the fields of education, healthcare, social services, and day programs.
  • Prepares daily reports and promptly notifies the site manager or project manager.
  • You work according to a schedule and are often on-site independently, with regular team meetings.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for professionals who:

  • Available immediately and be able to adapt to changing work schedules.
    • The shelter operates 24/7, which means that support is sometimes needed in the evenings and on weekends as well.
    • As a result, you play a crucial role in ensuring peace, safety, and continuity at the sites.
  • Have a valid first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one promptly.
  • Be digitally savvy and accurate in reporting.
  • Show initiative, work well with others, and have the confidence to make decisions on your own.
  • Be honest, empathetic, and culturally sensitive, and quickly build trust with diverse audiences.
  • Be practical, solution-oriented, and able to handle stress.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Have an excellent command of Dutch and speak English at a reasonable to good level.
  • Be able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (required).
