Job Description
As an Environmental Law Lawyer, you will be responsible for handling legal proceedings. We are looking for a lawyer specializing in enforcement. You will be responsible for setting up and handling enforcement proceedings. You will also be responsible for objection and appeal proceedings. You may also be called upon to provide general legal advice on environmental permits or spatial planning. Your tasks and responsibilities:
Task 1 You handle objection and (higher) appeal procedures and represent the municipality in these matters.
Task 2 Setting up and handling enforcement procedures.
Task 3 Sparring partner for your colleagues when assessing issues in your field of expertise.
Task 4 Collaborate with various disciplines within the municipality and external parties, such as the regional implementation service (ODD).
Our ideal candidate
Education level You have completed an academic legal education in the field of environmental and administrative law. In addition, you have successfully completed a specialization program (e.g., Grotius).
Experience You have extensive experience (at least 8 years) with the work and with working in government, and you have demonstrable experience as an environmental law attorney. You have successfully completed several complex cases with an administrative component. In addition, you preferably also have experience as a lawyer. Knowledge of the Southwest Drenthe region is an advantage.
Skills
You have up-to-date legal knowledge of administrative law, the associated procedures, and environmental law.
Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Strong analytical skills, results-oriented, and good communication skills.
