Role description and task arrangements

Supervisor and enforcer of the Environment Act.
vital holiday parks (new or experienced)

(For a period of one year on a secondment basis, with the intention of becoming permanent)
16 to 24 hours, with a preference for 24

Team
Do you want to build, renovate, change, demolish, or construct something in a public space? Then you must comply with the law. The municipality, in particular the Environmental Development team, plays an important role in this. Together with 30 colleagues, we work with our residents and entrepreneurs to see if and how we can realize their plans. Our tasks are wide-ranging. From issuing permits, supervision, and enforcement to policy-making and the implementation of our living environment. We do this with the Environment Act in mind. And in line with the development of the municipal organization.

What will you be doing?
You can read below what an experienced building inspector does. If you do not yet have (all) the experience, but see yourself developing into the position of building inspector/Wabo supervisor, we would still like to hear from you!

As a supervisor of vital holiday parks, you will mainly be involved in supervising our holiday parks. Because we believe that holiday parks should be used for recreation. Some parks will soon be approved for permanent residence. As a supervisor, you will determine whether the houses comply with building regulations. You will work together with other enforcement agencies, such as the Drenthe Safety Region (fire department) and the police.

For this position, it is important that you are able to clearly explain the objectives of vital holiday parks. You communicate easily with people and, when necessary, coordinate with colleagues from social services.

You communicate with all stakeholders about violations, laws and regulations, and enforcement procedures. You will process the results of inspections in the E-Suite case management system and in the Basic Registration of Addresses and Buildings (BAG). You will also write letters, including administrative notices.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced candidate or someone who has the ambition to become a supervisor and is willing to undergo training for this. You have a higher professional education (HBO) diploma or a relevant senior secondary vocational education (MBO+) diploma. You have a Building and Housing Supervision Officer I diploma, or you are willing to obtain one within 1-2 years. Knowledge of and experience in the field of construction is an advantage. You have up-to-date knowledge of the Building Decree, the APV, the WABO, and enforcement procedures. Or you can quickly learn this.

You are a good communicator (both verbally and in writing) and easily connect with those around you. You have a strong personality, are self-starting, and steadfast. You take responsibility, can deal with conflict situations, and remain customer-focused. You think in terms of solutions and work well with colleagues and residents. You empathize well and dare to address people about their behavior. You are a source of information for your colleagues and have coaching qualities. You can put things into perspective and are stress-resistant. It goes without saying that quality is of paramount importance to you. You have a class B driver's license.

You are unmatched in your ability to remain calm in difficult situations and can explain clearly why something is or is not possible or permissible. You are the program manager's point of contact between residents and the municipality. You know how to establish connections between stakeholders.
