Role description and task arrangements

Supervisor / BOA 
 
As a supervisor / BOA you contribute significantly to the livability of the municipality of Deventer. You control and enforce the APV, ASV, physical environment ordinance and parking ordinance, but also the Alcohol Act, undermining, illegal room rental and green enforcement. Depending on the situation you give advice on how to improve compliance. You do this by gathering information and using the intervention compass (CVV) you know how to determine the right strategy. 
  
 
Your work  
As a supervisor/BOA you control and enforce (local) legislation. In addition, you steer on the realization of the VTH policy plan, which focuses on compliance with laws and regulations.  
  
In your role as a supervisor/BOA you will inspect catering establishments and record your findings in an official report. At events you will check the license conditions and perform noise measurements. In case of deviations you give instructions to the organizer and record these. You also identify undermining issues such as the trade or production of illegal drugs and discuss these in the undermining consultation where chain partners are also present. In the case of illegal room rental you will check premises, record your findings and discuss them with the enforcement lawyers. In addition, in the context of "green enforcement" you check for illegal felling or the replanting obligation in the case of felling permits, improper use of municipal plots and stray dogs. In the Youth Network consultation you discuss nuisance youth together with chain partners, such as Raster, and determine what approach is appropriate. You can also be deployed as a traffic controller at incidents, events and Go Ahead Eagles matches.

You are communicatively strong. You can explain clearly and convince. In addition, you are decisive and can act quickly and effectively in different situations. You are also reliable, honest and act with integrity. Furthermore, you are stress resistant and flexible. In this position, you will sometimes have to work under pressure and in difficult circumstances. Finally, you can work well with different parties, such as: residents, police and other enforcement agencies. 
 
 
Your experience  
You possess:  
  • At least a completed HTV education (mbo-3 level); 
  • Minimum 1.5 years' experience as a supervisor/BOA; 
  • Knowledge of policy and legislation and regulations in the broad policy area of the physical environment (public space and environment) and public order and safety, with at least 1 or more specializations (youth, undermining, environment/greenery, alcohol law); 
  • Knowledge and application of conflict management and treatment.
