Role description and task arrangements

Asset manager - Municipal real estate

Here's what you'll do:

As Asset manager you represent the owner role of the real estate on behalf of the municipality. You are therefore responsible for the leasing, financial affairs and functional/technical quality of part of the real estate portfolio of the municipality of Emmen. This includes:

  • That you consult with tenants and make arrangements for use of municipal property.
  • That you are involved in various projects, for example, buying or renting a building, making (or having made) adjustments to buildings in response to tenant wishes. Of course sustainability plays a prominent role in this. In addition, as a future owner/landlord you are expressly involved in (new construction) projects within your portfolio;
  • That you manage the financial, legal and technical performance of the buildings under your care and
  • That you will ensure effective communication with users of the accommodations, representatives of users, relevant agencies, colleagues from the FGM/cluster real estate team and the municipal organization.

     

What do you bring:

  • You have a relevant completed education at the HBO/ WO level;
  • You have an educational background in, for example: Real Estate & Brokerage/ Real Estate Science or in a legal, technical or financial field.
  • You have experience in property management. Municipal experience is a plus.

As Asset Manager, you will use your property management experience to effectively manage the property portfolio. You leverage your excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders. You are also managerially sensitive when navigating complex policy processes and decision making. Furthermore, you excel at collaborating in teams to achieve common goals and successfully execute projects.

The Team:
As Asset Manager, you are part of the Real Estate and Land Affairs (VGZ) team, specifically the Real Estate cluster. Together with other colleagues, you are responsible for the management and maintenance of municipal real estate, including welfare, cultural and (sports) accommodations. The real estate (approx. 280 properties) is divided between two Asset Managers.

By default, we work with a VOG with general screening profile that must be received within 28 days of starting the assignment. Please indicate if a different screening profile applies or if the VOG must be received before the start of the assignment.
