Role description and task arrangements

Road Maintenance Employee / Technical Coordinator

We are seeking a hands-on technical coordinator for a municipal organization to ensure the day-to-day management and maintenance of public spaces. As a technical coordinator, you will serve as the link between the office and field staff. You will support the senior manager/technical advisor in their daily tasks. You’ll also work closely with other colleagues, challenging, complementing, and keeping each other on their toes to achieve the best possible results for our residents. 

 

What will you be doing?
You will ensure continuity in ongoing tasks and projects related to the management of roads and public spaces. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Management and updating of land area data using the Obsurv management program. 

  • Handling reports regarding public spaces. 

  • Contract administration and minutes of construction meetings. 

  • Preparation, coordination, and oversight of maintenance contracts and minor maintenance (asphalt repairs, road shoulders, cracks, surface milling). 

  • Management, maintenance, and modification of markings and lane lines. 

  • Assist in the preparation of maintenance specifications (paving and asphalt). 

  • Management and maintenance of traffic signs (including maintenance and cleaning). 


What do you bring? 

  • MBO+ (Level 4) in Civil Engineering 

  • Proven experience in the management and maintenance of roads and public spaces 

  • Experience in supervising civil engineering projects 

  • Knowledge of RAW systems and contract administration 

  • Experience with management systems such as Obsurv (or similar) 

  • Experience with public space reporting systems is a plus 

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills 

  • Able to work independently and set priorities
