What will you be doing?
What do we expect from you?

The policy development and translation cluster is divided into two teams: ABS and the Policy and Social Domain Development (BOS) team.
The task of municipalities and cooperation partners to serve residents as optimally as possible is now more demanding than ever. With the responsibilities that all parties have in this regard, your role as a policy advisor is of great importance.
You are able to quickly clarify the current situation, the goal, and how you and your partners can ensure that everything works as optimally as possible.
As standard, we work with a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) with a general screening profile, which must be submitted within 28 days of the start of the assignment. Please indicate if a different screening profile applies or if the VOG must be submitted before the start of the assignment.
What will you be doing?
- You will be jointly responsible for the development and refinement of strategic and tactical policy in the areas of the Participation Act, poverty and minimum income policy, and debt assistance, as part of the Development and Making Ends Meet task.
- Together with your colleague, you will be administrative liaison (college and council) and handle the process of administrative decision-making;
- You represent the Municipality of Emmen in various official consultations in the Drenthe region and the labor market region. In addition, you prepare the administrative consultations;
- Community partners will find in you a skilled and committed advisor who establishes and maintains connections;
- You will work (integrally) with your fellow policy advisors within the social domain in the area of the Wmo, Youth Act and the other task areas.
What do we expect from you?
- You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) or university education (WO) program appropriate for a policy position within the social domain;
- You have relevant work experience within the social domain. Work experience in the field of the Participation Act and/or task-oriented work is a plus;
- You know what the role of a consulting official entails;
- You are able to view situations from different perspectives and analyze them well;
- You are a solid interlocutor both internally and externally;
- You know the (policy) frameworks within the social domain and dare to operate within them;
- You have a good political antenna and you know when to inform and engage a director;
- You have excellent written and communication skills;
- You have an approachable attitude and know how to connect with different parties.
