Role description and task arrangements
Are you an IT professional with a passion for innovation? The Municipality of Emmen is looking for a Consultant Modern Workplace to accelerate digital transformation.
The assignment
The municipalities of Borger-Odoorn, Coevorden and Emmen (BOCE) plus four partner organizations want to be modern organizations where employees can do their work in a pleasant way and collaborate independently of location. This includes a modern workplace with modern ICT resources including applications in the M365 tenant, a Windows 11 laptop, mobile devices and Azure Virtual Desktop.
With the 'Samen Digitaal' program, the municipalities of Borger-Odoorn, Coevorden and Emmen are taking a big step towards a smart way of working together for the more than 3,200 employees. Modern means, time and location independent, ease of use and security are paramount.
As a Modern Workplace Consultant, you will help us with the transformation to the modern workplace as well as the further optimization of that environment and the governance around it. We expect you to be proactive and independent. You will be responsible in the project team of the municipality of Emmen for a number of detailed designs and the realization that have to do with Windows 11, M365, Azure infra including the Azure Virtual Desktop and the setup of the infrastructure required for the overall operation. As a Modern Workplace consultant, you are knowledgeable about the content operation of the Microsoft M365 environment and are able to bring the Municipality into the designs to be created. These designs are based on workshops in which choices are made and substantiated so that the rationale can be incorporated into the designs. After the design phase, the environment must be built in accordance with the established designs in collaboration with the other project members.
Who are we looking for?
- You have a completed HBO environment;
- You have certifications in Azure and M365;
- You have been involved in multiple Azure and M365 projects as a consultant;
- Extensive knowledge of Azure, connectivity and standardization therein;
- You have previously delivered partial designs for an Azure, Windows11 and AVD environment;
- You are familiar with Infrastructure and Configuration-as-Code
- Extensive experience with continuous configuration to production environment and its setup;
- DevOps is your way of working!;
- Affinity with architecture tooling such as BlueDolphin is a plus;
- You have good communication skills and can enthuse people to deliver value together.
What commitment do we expect?
- 36 hours per week of available time;
- Present at the Emmen location on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to our collaborative days in the project;
- Deployment until approximately the end of 2025 with mutual click.
