Role description and task arrangements

Social Domain Policy Advisor
16 to 24 hours per week, Losser

Making policy for the inhabitants of the municipality of Losser is one thing, giving hands and feet to that policy is the next step in the process. A nice connecting role in which you focus on various issues in the social domain. For this interesting challenge, we need you!

The top 3 things about this job
Here's why you'll love this job as a Social Domain Policy Advisor:
  1. We value good cooperation within the municipality of Losser. We regularly seek each other out and support each other wherever we can. Working together for a future-proof social domain!
  2. Your colleagues! We have a close-knit and diverse team and you will work directly with a total of five social domain policy advisors in the O&S unit.
  3. Much is possible by mutual agreement. For example, you can adjust working hours if that is more convenient and alternate office days with working from home.

As a Social Domain Policy Advisor
  • You will work on various issues within the social domain in the broadest sense of the word. Full of enthusiasm you bend over your area of attention that falls under your 'ownership'.
  • you know how to translate administrative priorities and regional and national developments into local policy;
  • do you enjoy drafting an appropriate memorandum for the municipality from your vision that is in line with the developments/challenges at play within the social domain;
  • Give well thought-out advice to the board and management and dare to enter into dialogue about the content!
  • join administrative and regional consultations and have good collaboration and networking skills;
  • You will continuously link with strategic advisors, fellow policy advisors and team leaders and actively seek the connection with the implementation: no coincidence then that we attach great value to cooperation. As a policy advisor you will make a concrete and valuable contribution to this;
  • view current issues from a helicopter view.

This vacancy is initially for six months with a chance of extension. You will support the team and will, in consultation, deal with various issues within WMO and youth. You will also deal with the theme of sheltered housing and social relief and advise the portfolio holder during regional meetings.

This is where you will work
A municipality with about 23,000 inhabitants that is geographically very large and has a beautiful rural life around the village centers: that is Losser. Our mission? That it is 'unmeunig mooi (samen)leven, recreation, ondernemen en werken' in Losser. As a municipality we perform legal tasks and realize the goals with and for inhabitants, companies and organizations. In short, work that matters. And we could really use you as a new colleague for that.! Read what else the municipality of Losser has to offer you.

Your team
You will work in the self-organizing Development and Strategy unit, which is working strategically and policy-wise on the major tasks facing municipalities today. This team works task-oriented and does not shy away from complexity. We look beyond today and work on solutions for the future. With 18 people, we are a diverse team in terms of personality, experience, age and background. We pride ourselves on the fact that each of us feels free to share our opinions and engage in respectful conversation. Together, we always come out ahead.

This is what we like to see in you
We are proud of our municipality of Losser and our residents. That is why we think it is first important that you feel connected to them. So that you know why and for whom you are doing it.
You know better than anyone else that implementation cannot do without a connection to policy and vice versa. You know the ways and distribution of tasks within a municipal organization. As a professional, you take responsibility, seek connections and show flexibility. You know how to tackle a project but can also deal with the ad hoc dynamics that this role entails. In addition, in this position you make good contact with society, with colleagues within the municipality of Losser and the Region Twente in an interactive way. With a high degree of independence, you will be able to write policy documents. Furthermore, you bring with you:

  • HBO+/WO level;
  • Experience in a consulting capacity;
  • someone with analytical and organizational skills;
  • someone who does not shy away from unorthodox thinking and likes to work from intention
  • Knowledge or affinity with WMO, sheltered housing, youth, which we can put to good use. You will be a very valuable addition to our team.
