Policy Advisor Educational Housing

What will you do as a policy advisor on educational housing?
You will advise the Schiedam Municipal Board and Council on the
implementation of the Integral Housing Program. Given the limited
financial resources and the size of the task, this requires creativity
and intensive consultation with school boards to arrive at the best solutions
. You assess the business cases of schools based on the
established financial and substantive frameworks and work closely with
colleagues from finance, real estate, spatial development, policy and
projects.
Your work contributes visibly to the city of Schiedam. Thanks to your efforts
and those of your colleagues, new schools are built that fit
the environment, and existing school buildings are renovated and
made more sustainable.
Educational Housing falls within the social domain of the municipality
Schiedam. You will work closely with a colleague within this policy area
and with colleagues from education and sports (accommodations). In addition,
you have regular appointments outside the municipal office with educational boards
and school boards. You will be part of a close and enthusiastic team
that works with great energy and dedication on the realization of
high-quality educational housing in Schiedam.

Job requirements
- You have a completed relevant college or university education.
- You have at least 1 year of experience and demonstrable knowledge and expertise of
social real estate, preferably educational housing.
- You like to work together with colleagues. You enjoy working with colleagues and provide integrally developed
advice.
- You do not shy away from complex issues with financial
challenges.
- You can recognize different interests and weigh them carefully.
- You enjoy negotiating on behalf of the municipality of Schiedam
for the best result.
- You can formulate advice clearly and comprehensibly for the college and the
city council.
