Are you an experienced communications consultant with a passion for security and crisis communications? Can you quickly switch between strategic advice and execution? Then we are looking for you!
About the position
For the Security department of the municipality of Schiedam we are looking for a temporary all-round communication advisor who will work both strategically and executive. You will support a variety of security issues, from enforcement actions and undermining to crisis communication and neighborhood prevention. In addition, the communication issues from the program Prevention with authority (early detection of problems and preventing young people from growing into a criminal career) are part of your responsibilities.) are part of your responsibilities.
You work closely with policy advisors, administrators and external partners such as police and fire departments. You will advise on communication approaches and ensure clear, effective communication to residents, business owners and other stakeholders.
What will you do?
- Advise on communication strategies in the field of security and crisis communication.
- Develop and implement communication tools (such as press releases, newsletters, social media and web texts).
- Prepare and supervise spokesperson and media contacts.
- Spotting and responding to developments and sentiments within society.
- Support campaigns and participation processes around security issues.
What do you bring?
- At least a college degree in communications or a similar field.
- Experience in a similar position, preferably within government.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Flexibility and stress resistance, especially in crisis situations.
- Experience with (social) media and crisis communication is a plus.
