Think of the integration of 7000 homes in an already lively city, sustainable mobility or the redevelopment of industrial sites. You oversee the consequences, the opportunities and the solutions.
Your role in Schiedam
In this role, you will be given a lot of responsibility as well as space. You:
You switch smoothly between strategy and implementation and know how to create support - even when interests clash. You are analytical, decisive and know how to get people on board. And above all: you believe that a healthy living environment is not a luxury but a necessity. The challenge of this in Schiedam gives you energy!
Team Spatial Development and Policy
You are part of the Spatial Development and Policy team. This team is engaged in shaping the strategic vision and central ambitions for the city of Schiedam. We direct the spatial and economic development. We do this by developing (strategic) policy, spatial implementation plans and implementing the urbanization agenda.
What do you bring?
You are an experienced environmental policy advisor (minimum 5 years) with:
36 hours per week

- Represents Schiedam in regional collaborations and translates agreements into local policies.
- Works with partners such as DCMR, province and other governments.
- Pulls the implementation of our Noise Action Plan.
- Thinks ahead: identify new developments (such as nitrogen, Environment Act) and anticipate them in policy.
