The municipality of Schiedam is looking for a subject specialist who is able to take colleagues along and coach them in this? Read on quickly!

What will you do as a Civil Affairs Specialist?
As one of the subject specialists, you ensure that our tasks as a municipality in the field of civil affairs are carried out properly. You will keep an overview of the work stock, set priorities, ensure current work processes and monitor that cases are completed within the correct handling time.
You also deal with (complex) applications in the field of Basic Registration of Persons (BRP), Civil Status, Private International Law, nationality legislation and ensure their correct processing. In the back office you also answer questions of both citizens and colleagues.
As a Civil Affairs Specialist, you also have a coaching role. You check the work performed and discuss any imperfections with the colleague concerned. In this way you monitor the quality of our work. Should you identify any trends, you report these to your coordinator and take any necessary measures for improvement. Also on policy level you think along about improvements of the process, you actively make proposals that benefit the service and efficiency.

Job Requirements
  • A college degree;
  • An NLQF level 6 specialist diploma or a certificate specialist in identity documents, civil status or basic registration of persons;
  • Demonstrated broad work experience in the field of civil affairs;
  • You have experience coordinating work and instructing colleagues;
As a professional civil affairs specialist, it will help you in your work if you are goal- and result-oriented. You have a proactive attitude and challenge yourself and those around you to achieve results. You try to solve challenges that you encounter and do not let them get you down. You are (constructively) critical of yourself and your work environment. You turn criticism into improvements.
