Role description and task arrangements

Senior Test Engineer, but may also be a Cisco network engineer/administrator with a lot of testing experience (at least T-map or ISTQB, TOSCA, preparing test cases) in an Agile environment.
Max rate: 80 euros

Start: asap after completion of screening (takes approx. 2-3 months)
End: 1-12-2026 with option for extension
Deployment: 38 hours per week
Location: Amersfoort

Role:

The Engineer decides, within the framework of the own multidisciplinary Agile Product or Enabling Team, on the execution and implementation of test products, services, processes and content of the own test (sub)products to be delivered. This comes about on the basis of a decision-making process within the team and in coordination with the other teams within HGI SO.

The Engineer is operationally accountable to the Product Owner of the own multidisciplinary Product or Enabling Team regarding the execution of the work. For non-operational matters, the Test Engineer reports to the IT Manager (line manager).

Tasks
  1. Operational:
    - Conducting integration and system testing of complex systems within and where necessary outside of own multidisciplinary Product or Enabling Team
    - Using test specification techniques to design and realize test cases, with and without specifications;
- Prepare test planning, test scenarios for, and reports of the complex integration and system tests;
- Providing input to the functional management of the various test environments;
- Reviewing requirements and determining their testability;
- Performing (automated) test cases, checks and investigations;
- Entering findings and retesting resolved findings;
- Collecting, selecting and optimizing testware.

2. Coordinating:
- Supervising one's own multidisciplinary Product or Enabling Team in performing integration and system testing of complex systems;
- Ensuring the availability of, among other things: test base, test object, test techniques, test infrastructure and support;
- Coaching test engineers involved in (test) projects/projects;

3. Supporting:
- Providing advice at an early stage on the possibilities and impossibilities of system components to be realized with respect to the various tests and thus probable realizability/testability;
- Providing (test) support and advice during incident and problem investigation;
- Contributing proactively to finding solutions for defects and shortcomings identified during testing;
- Monitoring unit and component tests performed within complex development projects/trajects in preparation of its own integration and system tests where possible;

- Supporting the updating, planning and budgeting of service activities regarding testing and the test environments both per (sub-)project and for the long term;

4. Contributing:
- Continuously searching for new techniques, developments, needs and regulations in the field of testing, through (literature) research, market exploration, participation in communities and working relationships;
- Building, pooling, maintaining and making available high quality specialist knowledge in the field of preparing test scenarios and executing integration and system tests for operational systems;
- Co-developing and improving procedures and work instructions to support the development and execution of test scenarios for integration and system tests;
- Together with the platform specialists, setting up and maintaining (virtual) test environments and test scenarios as well as acceptance criteria and norms for integration and system tests of operational systems;
- Advising on the improvement (design and execution) of the internal processes with a focus on the test processes.


Requirements:
  1. (must have !) Knowledge and experience with Cisco, preferably CCNA certified
  2. (must have !) Additional specific training in ICT systems testing ; T-map or ISTQB.
  3.  Experience with automated testing
  4. (must have !) You have 2 years of experience in preparing and executing test cases in ICT
  5. (must have !) You have 2 years of experience working Agile
  6. You have hands-on experience with system/software development
  7. You have practical experience with ICT Networking
  8. You have good communication skills and can work well in a team
  9. You have demonstrable, (test-related) work experience in different organizations and environments
  10. (must have !) You have a command of the Dutch and English language both verbally and in writing.
  11. (must have !) You have a NL passport
  12. HBO working and thinking level, preferably completed education in the field of ICT or a comparable combination of education and experience, if necessary verifiable in an assessment
  13. Knowledge and experience of IP
  14. Basic knowledge of Routing: (BGP, OSPF)
