As you know, there is another urgent request from the police. For this assignment, I want to quickly put together a permanentDevOps team for politie.nl, starting on June 1, 2026, with preparations and team interviews already taking place in the coming weeks.

assignment This is a permanent DevOps assignment with the Police for the management and further development of politie.nl, one of the most visible and security-sensitive digital platforms in the Netherlands. You will work in a multidisciplinary DevOps team according to the principle of "you build it, you run it, you own it," with a strong focus on stability, security, and technical innovation. The environment is cloud-native and containerized, with a largely headless frontend and a Java microservices backend.

Senior Full Stack Developer (Java / DevOps)

Required knowledge and experience
  • Minimum senior levelas a full-stack developer within Agile/DevOps teams (8 years)
  • Extensive experience with Java backend development, including:
    • Java 17 or higher
    • Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring Security
    • Developing microservices
  • Experience with API developmentbased on REST and OpenAPI (OASv3)
  • Cloud-native development in containerized environments
  • Experience with Kubernetesand packaging and deploying containers
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelinesand working with quality gates
  • Active use of SonarQubefor code quality and security checks
  • Experience with secure software development, including:
    • OWASP principles
    • Secure coding
    • Knowledge and/or experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience with frontend developmentin a headless context, preferably:
    • JavaScript
    • Vue.js / Nuxt
    • HTML and CSS
  • Experience with CMS-driven environmentsis an advantage.
  • Experience with external-facing web applicationsis a major advantage.
Role in the team
  • Developing and maintaining backend, API, and frontend components
  • Contributing to the separation of backend and CMS to prevent vendor lock-in
  • Actively contributing ideas about architecture, stability, and technical innovation
  • Collaborating with testers and DevOps engineers on quality and security
  • T-shaped deployable within the DevOps team
  • Participating in on-call shifts(24/7, as part of a team)
Strict requirements
  • Fluent Dutch, both spoken and written
  • Dutch passport required
  • Willingness to undergo security screening
