Role description and task arrangements

ATOS already has nearly two full DevOps teams working on a police department tender and is currently looking for two Senior Java/DevOps Developers for this project.
Interviews will be held on June 17 and 18, and the candidate must be available on those dates.
On June 23, it will be announced whether the proposed team will be allowed to start the assignment.
The start date will follow an extensive screening process and is currently set for July 27, but in practice, it will likely be September 1.

This is a team-based request for proposals regarding the modernization of existing applications. The candidate must demonstrably fit within a mature DevOps team and have experience with development, CI/CD, deployment, and management in a complex enterprise environment.

Minimum requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in Java development, with demonstrable use of Java 17 in recent projects.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrable experience with Java 21.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, JPA, and Open API.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Kubernetes, preferably AMOS.
  • At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
  • Experience with SonarQube, Jenkins, GitHub, XLDeploy, and ArgoCD.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and writing queries.
  • Experience with DevOps workflows, including build, test, deploy, and management.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing.
  • The candidate must be available and eligible for background screening for work with the police.
Pre:
  • Experience with Angular is a definite plus, as the teams also require front-end and UX-related work using Angular.
  • Experience within a large government organization or a similar enterprise environment.
  • Basic knowledge of SAFe.
  • Experience with production processes, management, monitoring, and working within an OTAP/development line.
Availability and screening:
  • The planned start date is July 27, 2026, subject to contract award and screening.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • The work will be based in the Central Netherlands/Utrecht region; hybrid work is possible, but the Police will ultimately determine the work location and attendance requirements.
  • The candidate must be willing and available to undergo a security screening by the police.
  • A positive screening result is required before the candidate can begin.
  • The candidate must be available to participate in the preparations for and the team interview as part of the tender process.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Dutch is required.
We would like to receive the following from each candidate:
  • current resume;
  • rate;
  • place of residence;
  • possible employment arrangements, such as self-employment, secondment, temporary-to-permanent (preferred), or other;
  • Confirmation that the candidate is available for the team interview and is willing to undergo the police background check.
The assignment has an initial term of 1 year, with an evaluation after 6 months and the option to extend it for three 1-year periods. If extended, candidates could potentially work on this assignment for up to 4 years. For this position, the candidate is not required to work on-call shifts.
