Senior NTP Specialist / Network & Infrastructure Engineer
About the role
Within a very large government program, the DDI/NTP team is responsible for
reliable, secure, and accurate time services within a business-critical IT
environment. Due to the departure of the current specialist, we are seeking a senior network and
infrastructure engineer with NTP specialization. 
In this role, you will be the leading subject matter expert in the field of Network Time Protocol (NTP) and will be
responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the NTP
services at this client’s site. You will primarily work on-premises, with opportunities for
remote/hybrid work.
What will you be doing?
• Designing and further developing the NTP architecture within the client’s environment
• Configure and implement NTP solutions, both software-based and physical
• Manage and optimize proprietary NTP equipment
• Integrate NTP into broader network and infrastructure architectures
• Support (and advise on) PTP (IEEE 1588) where applicable
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues and disruptions
• Documenting architecture, configurations, and standards
• Collaborating with network, infrastructure, and security specialists within the
Program
You will work regular office hours; there is no on-call duty or 24/7 shift. A security screening is required for this position
.
What do you bring to the table?
• Senior-level experience as a network or infrastructure engineer
• Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of NTP and time synchronization
• Experience with architecture, design, and implementation in complex environments
• Experience with GNSS/GPS reception and technology.
• Knowledge of PTP (IEEE 1588) 
• Experience with on-premise infrastructures; hybrid working is familiar territory
• Strong analytical skills and able to independently understand complex environments
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written Dutch (Dutch is the working
and documentation language); English is a plus
