  • Team: permanent DevOps team of 7 FTEs

Assignment
This is a permanent DevOps assignment with the Police for the management and further development of politie.nl, one of the most visible and security-sensitive digital platforms in the Netherlands. You will work in a multidisciplinary DevOps team according to the principle of " you build it, you run it, you own it," with a focus on quality, stability, and security. The environment is cloud-native and containerized, with a Java microservices backend, a largely headless frontend, and a CMS-driven landscape.

Senior Test Engineer / Test Automation Engineer (DevOps)

Required knowledge and experience
  • Minimum senior level as a tester within Agile/DevOps teams
  • Extensive experience with test automation within CI/CD environments
  • Experience with test strategy and test management
  • BDD working with, for example, Cucumber (Java) or Robot Framework
  • API testing, for example with Postman or similar tools
  • UI test automation with Playwright or Selenium
  • Demonstrable experience with testing CMS systems, preferably:
    • CMS-driven websites
    • Headless CMS architectures
    • Content, workflow, and publication processes
  • Experience with security testing, including:
    • SAST, DAST
    • Vulnerability scanning
    • Secure software development
    • Knowledge and/or experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiar with working in containerized environments (Kubernetes context)
  • Experience with external-facing web applications is a major advantage.
  • ISTQB or TMAP certified
Role in the team
  • Point of contact for quality and testing within the DevOps team
  • Setting up and monitoring test strategy and Definition of Done
  • Active contribution to shift-left quality
  • Contributing to reducing regression, disruptions, and technical debt
  • Collaborating with developers, DevOps engineers, and the Platform team
  • T-shaped deployable, testing is part of the team process
  • Participating in on-call shifts (24/7, as part of a team)
Strict requirements
  • Fluent Dutch, spoken and written
  • Dutch passport required
  • Willingness to undergo security screening by the police
