The organization
You’ll be working for a wonderful municipality that places a high priority on sustainability. The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is rich in nature and cultural history. You’ll find estates, country homes, and, of course, the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. It’s a large public space with a green character, which we manage with great care, both in terms of design and maintenance.
Our municipality is an ideal place to live, work, and enjoy leisure activities. The organization consists of six departments, also referred to as “themes”: Regional Social Domain, Community, Environment, Outdoor Space, Strategy, and Services. Within the Outdoor Space theme, approximately 80 people are employed, divided into four teams, including the Management team.
The Management Team is responsible for managing physical public spaces.
The atmosphere within the team is relaxed. Your colleagues are approachable, and communication lines are short. We help one another, though we expect everyone to take ownership of their responsibilities independently. Our municipality has a flat organizational structure, so it’s easy to connect with people outside your team as well.
As a Green Advisor, you’ll work on various environmental requests and projects for the Intake Committee and Environmental Committee, the Wabo process, and project leaders at the Utrechtse Heuvelrug municipality. The advisorserves as a sounding board for the management coordinator, project leaders, and case managers. He acts as the link between environmental requests and projects in the outdoor space and management. In doing so, he ensures an integrated approach, looking beyond his own field of expertise and collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines and areas of focus. In addition, you’ll also perform support tasks for the Green Spaces, Sports, and Play department.
Duties:
Consulting intake and environment table
Project consulting, review of preliminary and detailed designs, and project completion
Organize participation, both reactive and proactive
Point of contact for residents and interest groups with new initiatives
Review of Permit Applications Regarding Green Space Management
Advising colleagues in the landscaping department
Ensuring proper information and communication
Establish frameworks for facility and projects;
Elaborate more complex questions from residents, administration and organization;
Responsible for review and delivery of projects and revision data entry;
Responsible for ensuring that projects are transferred and entered into the management system
Initiates improvement proposals based on vision and policy irt practice
Make calculations tbh review designs where necessary and make small designs.
Provides input on strategic policies
Active contribution to cooperation with externals such as province, water boards and other organizations
skills
Can think holistically and weigh different interests
Understanding of laws and regulations within the field
Stay up to date on what's happening in the field
