Senior Mobility Policy Advisor
Would you like to contribute to the renewal of mobility in our unique outdoor space? We are looking for a senior (policy) advisor for 24 hours per week to join the management team within the Outdoor Space theme.
This is what you will do
Our ambition is to realize a large number of projects in public spaces in the coming years. Examples include: the implementation agenda for the mobility plan, area developments, and drawing up a vision for the city center. As a Mobility Advisor, you will have a multifaceted role with both policy-related components and specific advisory tasks. On any given day, you might be advising a project manager on how the road should look after sewer works and also directing a parking survey. In between, you will also receive all kinds of questions from residents and interest groups. You are the connecting link between the operational, tactical, and strategic levels. In doing so, you keep track of the impact your ideas, actions, and decisions have on colleagues and external parties and communicate about this.

- In July 2025, the municipal council of Utrechtse Heuvelrug adopted an ambitious Mobility Plan with an Implementation Agenda. You will contribute to the realization of the goals and projects set out in this policy.
- Traffic engineering consulting in large-scale area development and infrastructure projects involving traffic and parking challenges;
- Assessing traffic-related aspects in a tender procedure: you are part of the tender procedure assessment team and assess traffic-related aspects.
- Professional and process-oriented coaching of junior employees
- Advising the Municipal Executive and attending council meetings
- A higher professional education degree in traffic engineering and knowledge of current developments
- Demonstrated experience and vision in conducting complex studies of (new) infrastructure
- At least 15 years of experience, preferably also within a municipal or similar context, such as a province.
- Experience in guiding and steering political and social decision-making processes and possesses political and administrative sensitivity
