Role description and task arrangements

As a policy advisor RO you will advise (together with your colleague) in the broadest sense of the word from a spatial planning and urban planning perspective on spatial initiatives. This involves a mix of activities. First, assessing and advising on plans submitted to the municipality from the community that do not fit into existing municipal policy (environmental plan). These include plans from residents or, for example, property developers for the construction of homes or changes in use. All these plans require a thorough assessment of feasibility and desirability, but due to the departure of an employee, we are now acutely short of hands and eyes.
It also involves participating in projects that require RO -tailored input. You may also be asked to provide input into the formulation of policy in parts of the field or that of other fields. (e.g. VAB policy)

When assessing spatial initiatives, as a municipality we work in an integrated way and the advice of the various subject advisors is brought together at the so-called intake tables and environment tables. As a policy advisor, you explain your advice at these intake tables.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that we are a municipality with a lot of scenic beauty, natural values and a lot of cultural history. We are very attached to our green character, both of our urban and rural areas. In addition, we have many country estates and country houses in our municipality where requests for new developments also come regularly. If you are interested in this and like us, are excited about our beautiful green surroundings, then this is a municipality that offers you a great opportunity to make a temporary contribution.

What are your duties:

Concrete task areas for which you will be responsible include:
  • Assessment of submitted spatial initiatives from a spatial planning and urbanism/landscape perspective.
  • Preparation of opinions
  • Provide input and advice in projects
  • Participation in the intake table or, as appropriate: the environment table
  • Possibly draft or contribute to policies, including preparation of college and council documents.

What do we expect from you, what can you do?
  • At least relevant and completed college education;
  • You have at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience within the last 10 years in the field of spatial planning and urban development within a municipal institution;
  • Because of this work experience, you are immediately employable, are an equal sparring partner and can work independently;
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations within spatial planning
  • Analytically strong and able to translate complex issues into concrete policy recommendations;
  • If you have kknowledge and experience in consulting specifically for estates and country houses, that would be a plus, as well as knowledge of our municipality.
