Financial Statements Coordinator (Temporary)

36 hours per week (minimum of 24 hours); days to be determined in consultation with the client

Are you the kind of person who can effortlessly switch between financial statements, accounting, BBV regulations, and process improvement? And do you get a sense of fulfillment from helping to improve the financial management of a municipal organization?

To temporarily strengthen the team, we are looking for an experienced professional who can ensure reliable record-keeping, high-quality financial statements that are completed on time, and a solid financial foundation for the organization.

What will you do?

You are the lead specialist for financial accounting and ensure that financial processes comply with current internal and external regulations.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • coordinating and preparing the annual financial statements;

  • preparing for and overseeing the audit;

  • serving as the primary point of contact for the accountant;

  • ensuring the quality and reliability of financial data;

  • developing practical management information to support financial management;

  • improving financial processes and procedures;

  • supporting colleagues with complex financial and administrative issues;

  • Performing complex tasks related to financial administration on your own.

What makes this position interesting?

You’re not just someone who provides direction; you also pitch in yourself. You combine subject-matter expertise with a sense of ownership. Together with the other subject matter experts and consultants, you ensure that the financial portion of the annual financial statements is completed on time and that the audit file is submitted on time and meets the required quality standards.

Who are you?

You are an experienced finance professional who maintains a broad perspective, recognizes connections, and identifies opportunities for improvement.

In addition, you possess:

  • a relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration;

  • experience with municipal finances, particularly in the preparation of annual financial statements;

  • up-to-date knowledge of BBV and financial reporting;

  • recent experience working with accountants;

  • Experience with process improvement and internal controls.

Your competencies:

  • strong analytical skills;

  • independently;

  • organization-sensitive;

  • quality-oriented;

  • able to provide colleagues with substantive assistance;

  • Practical: You see where things can be improved and take steps to make those improvements.

What will be your challenge?

Financial accounting forms the foundation of the planning and control cycle and management decision-making. You ensure that this foundation is solid. You bring structure to the process and ensure that the audit file is delivered to the accountant on time and meets the required quality standards.
