The municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug is increasingly looking to adopt a data-driven approach. To this end, the municipality is working on reliable, scalable, and future-proof data solutions. Are you the enthusiastic, experienced, and independent data engineer we’re looking for?
You will provide comprehensive support to the Municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug in addressing data-related issues and monitoring. In doing so, you will be at the heart of today’s societal challenges, such as climate adaptation, social services, and promoting sustainable energy and housing. In addition, you’ll work on topics related to the municipality’s operations, such as the quality of services provided to residents and making data quality within the chain of basic and core registries more transparent and improving it.
You are able to apply your technical skills to these issues to obtain the requested information. Based on our initial architecture, you ensure that data from various sources is made available in a structured and secure manner for analysis and decision-making within the municipality’s various departments. Sometimes the data is not yet available (in a structured format). You provide advice and support in setting up systems for collecting, managing, analyzing, and making data accessible.
In this role, you will work closely with the Basic Registries System Coordinator (responsible for data quality throughout the chain), our Data-Driven Work Advisor (responsible for developing and implementing user stories), and the data analyst (responsible for implementing information products in our BI environment and our geocomponent).
Job requirements
You are proactive and find satisfaction in working collaboratively with the municipality to guide it toward appropriate solutions. You quickly master new and complex subject matter. You are also flexible, able to handle stress well, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. You are confident, build rapport easily, and work in a structured manner. You feel at home in a political and administrative environment and are able to work independently. You also enjoy working in a team that is open and enthusiastic, supports one another, and collaborates effectively.
