Who are we?
The municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug has about 50,000 inhabitants. The municipality is situated in beautiful, green surroundings in which the village centers have their own identity and cultural-historical value. The core values of service, environmental sensitivity and responsibility are of paramount importance to us. You will be working on behalf of our municipality. This assignment falls under the theme Society.

What is the purpose of the position?
First of all, the independent Confidential Advisor for Care and Support was created to offer residents a low-threshold opportunity to express their dissatisfaction in this area. Filing a complaint or an objection can be quite a step for residents. Not every resident will dare take that step. An independent listening ear can be a solution. In addition, not every feeling of dissatisfaction can be captured in a complaint or objection. Especially because it concerns vulnerable groups, we want to create a clear and accessible facility. With an independent function, where residents can find a listening ear for dissatisfaction, we prevent complaints from remaining under the radar. 


Second, we want to gain good insight into the areas where we can improve our policies. Complaints or signals of dissatisfaction are indispensable to identify areas of improvement.

What are your duties?
  • Holding (telephone) consultation hours for residents (at least once every two weeks), also outside of that you are available for questions from residents.
  • Investigate signals from residents.
  • Warmly referring to existing complaints or grievance procedures.
  • Organizing breakthrough sessions or roundtables with residents and other stakeholders within the social domain.
  • Provide periodic reporting to the City Council.

What skills and competencies do you have?
  • You have experience as an independent confidant.
  • You can take an independent position in relation to residents, municipality and other players in the social domain.
  • You are able to switch well between different levels (from alderman, to resident, from official to provider or village team consultant).
  • You have a friendly appearance and great empathy, but can certainly act in a businesslike and decisive manner.
  • You are communicatively strong.
  • You are proactive
