Role description and task arrangements

Senior Project Manager, Civil Engineering / Water Management Infrastructure

We are seeking a senior project manager with extensive experience in the planning and execution of complex civil engineering and water management projects in our public spaces. As a senior project manager for public spaces, you will be responsible for setting up, managing, monitoring, and adjusting these projects. You will facilitate project-based collaboration within project teams. You will shape the work processes, make adjustments where necessary, and keep the project objectives firmly in sight. An integral part of these projects is developing a widely supported plan based on a holistic approach. A well-considered balancing of interests is carried out, involving various stakeholders.  

In this role, you will assemble your core project team, consisting of various subject matter experts such as the project manager, civil engineer, communications advisor, supervisor, and site manager. In this role, you will work independently on the projects assigned to you. 

You are aware of your surroundings and a connector with an eye for results. You possess excellent communication skills. You know how to inspire and motivate people to work together to make a project a success.
  • You have a background in civil engineering (including soil, road, and water engineering) and landscaping.
  • You have at least 10 years of verifiable work experience as a project manager in civil engineering.
  • You have at least 10 years of verifiable work experience as a project leader/process manager in civil engineering at a municipality.
  • Experience in joint projects with a water authority is a plus.
  • You are able to shift gears at the managerial and political levels.
  • You have experience with complex, integrated projects in a complex environment.
  • You keep an overview, work in a planned and structured way, are tenacious and think in solutions.
  • Realization in accordance with project requirements, monitoring the scope and managing project risks is right up your alley. 
  • You have experience with and can advise on the various contract forms and construction organization forms.
  • You have proven practical experience in managing, monitoring and adjusting contracts.
  • You have proven experience working with UAV 2012, SSK estimates, and the RAW methodology.
