Role description and task arrangements

Job Description:
- Coordinate, collect information and process Woo requests;
- Reviewing documents and screening information for applicability of grounds for exceptions;
- Requesting views, weighing interests in disclosure and ensuring legally tenable justifications for Woo decisions;
- Handling appeals, hearing objectors, defending at a hearing and drafting decisions on appeals;
- Acting as a defendant in appeal proceedings before the District Court and Administrative Law Division of the Council of State concerning Woo decisions;
- Maintaining contact on the progress of pending Woo requests with colleagues from other organizational units;
- Advising management and colleagues on the application of the Woo and legal frameworks;
- Identifying developments in laws and regulations and translating them into practice;
- Continuously improving legal quality through, among other things, process improvements, learning lessons (including from court proceedings), standardization and knowledge sharing within the organization.

Who are we looking for?
Completed legal education at at least college level;
At least 3 years of demonstrable work experience handling Woo requests;
Experience in drafting decisions and conducting objection and appeal proceedings;
Analytically strong, politico-administrative sensitive, communicatively skilled and able to convey legal material in understandable language;
Independent, accurate and result-oriented, with a sense of cooperation.

Organizational context
You will work within the team Environmental Supervision, part of the theme Environment. The team includes supervisors, boa's and lawyers. Within the team there is a collegial atmosphere with room for personal initiative and professional development. Together we work towards a livable, safe and well-organized municipality.
