What will you do
You will assess the legal aspects and consequences of (complex) decisions and notifications for environmentally harmful activities.
You will provide advice within the framework of the Environmental Law. Where applicable, you conduct objection and appeal proceedings in a convincing manner.

For this request, the emphasis is on administrative law advice on environmentally harmful activities and the preparation of environmental permits and customized decisions.

Who are you
You are able to familiarise yourself in a short period of time with the content of procedures we handle within the Haaglanden Environment Service. In contacts you are able to express your point of view and vision clearly and with conviction. You are an enthusiastic and expert lawyer, with a keen eye for legal pitfalls and solutions. You know how to assess what is risky and what is tenable and within the legal frameworks you know how to act between what is allowed and what is not.

We ask

• You have a completed WO degree in law, preferably with specialization in administrative law, or administrative law orientation evidenced by other education or work experience;
• You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience in the field of environmental law;
• You preferably have experience in conducting objection and appeal proceedings.

Work towards a sustainable environment in the Haaglanden region as a lawyer at the Haaglanden Environment Service. The Haaglanden Environment Service carries out environmental tasks for the nine municipalities in the Haaglanden region as well as tasks for the province of South Holland. You will work in the Legal & Administrative Affairs team of the Environmental Permitting & Review Department.

We are looking for someone with a WO law degree with knowledge, experience and affinity with administrative and environmental law. Your work consists of the legal review of permits and exemptions, advising the permit issuers and handling objections and appeals. You will direct complex cases. We work case-oriented, using a VTH case system.
