Role description and task arrangements

Lawyer of management, damage control and felling of timber stands

At the Omgevingsdienst Haaglanden, you work together with more than 230 expert colleagues on a clean environment, nature conservation and a safe living environment. Granting permits, supervising and enforcing where necessary is in our genes. This means constantly taking divergent interests into account. Our ambition? Thinking together today about tomorrow's sustainable solutions. We work a stone's throw from The Hague city center and a ten-minute walk from The Hague Central Station.

Within the Legal and Administrative Affairs team of the Environmental Review & Licensing Department, we are looking for a management and damage control lawyer. 

What will you do?
  • You will ensure legal quality in the processing of applications for permits for management and damage control activities and felling of timber stands under the Environment Act and the Living Environment Activities Decree.
  • You will handle objections and appeals and represent the authority in court.
  • Yes advises on (sometimes complex) legal issues
  • You follow and implement policy developments and new laws and regulations.
  • You will work with our case system in which you will monitor the process, quality and turnaround time of your procedures.
What do we ask of you?
  • A lawyer who is analytically strong, results-oriented and with an eye for (practical) solutions
  • Graduated WO direction administrative law
  • Working experience in reviewing administrative decisions (in the field of environmental law, preferably species protection) and knowledge of recent developments in this field
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Experience with case-oriented work in a digital case system
  • Customer-oriented and open communication
Hours and working days
Number of hours per week: 36 (less is also negotiable)
Comments: 4 to 5 days a week
Physical presence is self-determined
