Responding to this assignment? You can do so on Striive.

Role description and task arrangements

Junior/Medior Natura 2000 assessor and licensing officer
At the Haaglanden Environment Service, you will work together with more than 230 expert colleagues on a clean environment, nature conservation and a safe living environment. Granting permits, supervising and enforcing where necessary is in our genes. Our ambition? To think along today about tomorrow's sustainable solutions. We normally work a stone's throw from The Hague city center and a ten-minute walk from The Hague Central Station.

For the Environmental Assessment and Licensing Department we are looking for Natura 2000 Assessors and Permit Holders on a temporary basis.
On behalf of the province of Zuid-Holland, the Haaglanden Environmental Service is responsible for granting permits for nature under the Environmental Act (formerly the Nature Conservation Act). This request concerns the area protection component.

Do you have a heart for nature and are you good at working together in the green field? Do you want to work on the nitrogen issue in the field of nature conservation (Natura 2000) in South Holland in relation to large-scale developments in the Rotterdam harbor area, but also smaller-scale developments in the field of farmers and biomass plants?
Then contribute to a better living environment and respond. Who knows, perhaps you will soon be part of a very nice team of 35 colleagues within ODH.

What will you be doing?
- You will play your part in various stages of reviewing and granting permits for nitrogen dossiers (from preliminary consultations to advising to issuing permits).
- You will work with our case system in which you monitor the process, quality and throughput time of your procedures within the framework of the Awb.
- You are solution-oriented, can work in a project-oriented way, are able to persevere and identify bottlenecks, make improvement proposals and give advice.

What do we ask of you?
- A technical background (college or university) with legal or biological affinity.

- At least 1 or 2 years' work experience in a similar position.
- You can work with the Aerius calculation tool or have knowledge of dispersion calculations and models.
- You are customer-oriented, a team player and have an open and direct way of communicating.
- You work accurately and are good at writing, planning and organizing.
