Role description and task arrangements

Change advisor

UMC Utrecht will undergo an intensive and large-scale transformation in the coming years. The organization is working on several strategic tasks in parallel, including a new organizational design, ERP implementation, UMC-wide renovation and construction, and strategic personnel planning. These changes require not only technical and organizational decisions, but above all a strengthening of change capacity, leadership, team development, and communication skills.

We are implementing the change in a way that aligns with how we want to work in the new organization (from A to B, in the manner of B). UMC Utrecht’s new management philosophy, together with the resulting leadership principles and behaviors, form the new foundation for the transformation approach. The Change workstream plays a central role in this. The Change Workstream guides the organization in developing, applying, and living out the new organizational model and management philosophy. We support leadership, team development, and behavioral change through coaching, training, mirroring, and direct, engaged change management. In this workstream, change consultants, communication consultants, and leadership consultants work closely together.

We are looking for three change consultants to join our change management team.

Key responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the change team, you design change approaches for organizational units that are undergoing transformation, as an integral part of a program.
  • You design and supervise interventions to support managers in their tasks.
  • You coach managers who are going through a change process with their teams.
  • You focus on the people, process, and organizational aspects of change.
  • You monitor change and make adjustments.
  • You guide teams in their formation and further development.
  • You will work with senior management to effectively shape and guide the implementation of major UMC Utrecht-wide changes.
  • You contribute to strengthening the knowledge and skills of change management in the program.

This you take with you

  • You are a senior (7+ years) change agent with extensive experience in large change programs in complex environments.
  • You have knowledge and experience with cultural change (attitude & behavior) and organizational change.
  • You are able to independently implement a change approach and make the necessary interventions.
  • You feel comfortable facilitating group meetings, even when there is resistance and challenging team dynamics.
  • You are organizationally sensitive and are able and enjoy switching between different levels.
  • You have extensive knowledge of change frameworks, know how to translate them into practical applications, and can explain them in practical terms to managers.
  • You are confident and assertive, and you challenge senior management when necessary in order to achieve results.

Yourself: you have an eye for people, are curious and reflective, and are a team player. Do you have extensive experience as a change consultant and do you possess the above qualities? Then we look forward to receiving your response!

We offer a varied job in a dynamic environment with plenty of opportunities for personal development and growth. You will be part of an ambitious team working to shape the healthcare of the future and solve today's challenges. Would you like to join us in this endeavor?

We are looking for three colleagues who are available to work 24–28 hours per week on short notice. The assignment will last at least one year, with the possibility of extension.

Please note: interviews are scheduled for June 18 and June 22. There was an error in the original post. We apologize.
