Role description and task arrangements

Vacancy text: Program and Change Manager Green Deal Sustainable Care (Theme 2, NFU)

Intro/Summary
Are you an experienced and entrepreneurial Program Manager and/or Change Manager? Will you use your strong personality to help realize the sustainability ambitions and plans of UMC Utrecht?

This is what you will do
In the UMC Utrecht we work every day to improve care, a healthy life for our patients and a healthy society - now and in the future. We want to increase our positive impact on this by reducing our negative impact on the environment and climate. As program manager, you will have an important role in this.

The UMC Utrecht is the lead agency on behalf of all academic hospitals for Theme 2: knowledge development and awareness. Within this subsidy trajectory, several (sub)projects have been defined and started where you will coordinate or further concretize projects. You will also be part of the collaboration with sector associations and explore how we can connect and collaborate (co-creating) with other partners such as the Dutch Association of Hospitals and Green Care Alliance from Theme 2.

Here's how to do that, among other things:
  • You will translate the objectives from the Green Deal Sustainable Care into practice.
  • You will coordinate the various components of the ongoing grant, including
    • Increasing the strength of Green Teams in teaching hospitals by developing tools
    • accelerating laboratory sustainability
    • Developing national awareness campaigns for target groups employees and students of the UMCs
    • securing planetary health in the medical and biomedical sciences education of the umc's
    • shape patient awareness and implementation in collaboration with industry associations
  • You lead multiple projects simultaneously and take responsibility for the results to be achieved and their realization. When faced with resistance from stakeholders, you know how to hold your own.
  • You make progress and results measurable and visible and learn from each project.
  • You will report to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport on progress, manage the program budget and provide periodic (financial) reports.
  • You will work intensively with colleagues in the team, departments such as Marketing & Communications, content experts, knowledge institutions, industry parties and other hospitals. This is how you ensure that solutions work in practice and lead to the desired social impact.

This is where you will work
You will work at the Strategy & Policy Directorate of UMC Utrecht within the Sustainability program, where we shape and realize the transition to sustainable care, research and education.

This you take with you
  • You are an experienced program / change / project manager and have extensive experience in (functional) leadership of others
  • You are skilled in managing administrative and organizational change processes and steering for concrete results
  • You have an affinity for the sustainability task in healthcare and are familiar with the national sustainability landscape within the healthcare sector.
  • You have experience with grant processes and accountability and preparing and presenting (progress) reports to senior stakeholders and directors
  • You are organization-sensitive, confident and an expert at creating support
  • You have excellently developed analytical skills, are creative and able to represent complex issues in simple terms.
  • You are good at switching and connecting with internal and external stakeholders and experts (policy, facilities) and know how to get people moving. You are able to translate their substantive knowledge into solutions or innovation issues, if necessary you make a first move.
  • You have knowledge of change management and know how to deal well with different interests.
  • You are entrepreneurial, have an eye and attention for the members in the team and a good team dynamic.

We offer a varied job in a dynamic environment. You will be part of an ambitious team, driven to make social impact! Will you work with us?
