Role description and task arrangements

The recovery nurse is responsible for providing immediate postoperative care to patients. The focus is on monitoring vital signs, identifying complications, and ensuring safe, high-quality care. In this role, you will work in a dynamic environment where quick thinking, clinical reasoning, and teamwork are essential.

Work:

  • Monitoring vital signs after surgeries and treatments
  • Identifying and treating postoperative complications
  • Administering medication, including pain relievers
  • Operating and monitoring medical equipment
  • Acting independently in emergency situations, including CPR
  • Transferring patients to the nursing ward
  • Providing information and support to patients and parents/caregivers
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating nursing care
  • Observing and analyzing patients' conditions and anticipating their needs
  • Collaborating with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other disciplines
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and handover
  • Working in accordance with protocols, guidelines, and quality standards
  • Identifying areas for improvement and contributing to quality improvement
  • Staying up to date on professional knowledge and participating in training programs

Job Requirements:

  • Level 5 Nursing Diploma
  • Additional training to become a recovery, ICU, or anesthesia nurse
  • Preferably experience in a hospital setting

  • Being able to act quickly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Good communication skills
