Role description and task arrangements

Interim Team Leader, Construction and Equipment

Due to the temporary absence of our permanent team leader, we are seeking an experienced interim team leader to start immediately. You will take charge of the Construction and Equipment team and ensure that the management and maintenance of technical facilities and (medical) equipment continue without interruption. All of this takes place in a hospital environment where maintenance and malfunctions have a direct impact on patient care. You will ensure stability and continuity within the team.

Your Assignment
You will ensure that the team continues to function effectively, that the maintenance schedule stays on track, and that ongoing tasks are handled with care. Upon the permanent team leader’s return, you will hand over a stable team and a well-organized situation.

The focus of this assignment is on leading and guiding the team. We are explicitly not looking for a project manager, but rather a coaching and unifying leader who is visibly present on the work floor, supports employees in their development, and fosters calm, structure, and collaboration within the team

What you will do

  • You will lead a team of technicians, a scheduler, and a work planner, and you will serve as their primary point of contact.
  • You will oversee the maintenance schedule and its implementation.
  • You will serve as the point of contact for installations, monitor contract terms with suppliers, and oversee documentation and certifications.
  • You will take on ongoing improvement initiatives and projects, and identify areas where the MJOP and MJOB require adjustments.
  • You will maintain collaboration with stakeholders both within and outside the organization, including Asset Management and the (internal and external) project organization.
  • You report to the cluster manager on progress, challenges, and risks.

Who are you

  • HBO-level work and thinking skills with a technical background (architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar).
  • Demonstrable experience as an (interim) manager in technical operations and maintenance, preferably in the healthcare sector or another critical environment.
  • You'll get up to speed quickly, adapt easily, and start adding value in no time.
  • Technically competent enough to independently analyze and resolve malfunctions and issues.
  • You're a team player and reliable: the team knows exactly where they stand.
  • You make decisions within the established guidelines and are accountable for them.

Duration and Scope
Effective immediately, initially for 6 months, 36 hours per week. Extension is possible, depending on the return of the permanent team leader.

Practical Information

  • This application is not suitable for self-employed individuals
  • Hybrid work is possible; in-office presence is preferred whenever possible
  • 32 - 36 hours per week
  • The team consists of 15–20 people
  • The schedule will be announced here at a later date
