Who is ZHB?
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is a collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Department of Public Works, the Province of South Holland, the municipality of The Hague, the municipality of Rotterdam, Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ProRail.
Our main task is to improve accessibility and livability in South Holland. To achieve this, we and our partners ensure that disruption during works is limited and we contribute to the sustainable mobility transition. We have about 100 people working at ZHB. That's a permanent base of about 30 employees and about 70 people in a flexible shell.

About the assignment
The candidate will supervise the first project as a sub-project leader. In subsequent projects, the candidate will act as main project leader.
The first project:
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is responsible for the mobility approach surrounding the renovation of several tunnels in South Holland. The project includes disruption reduction, behavioral influencing, traffic management and programming of works. The project is now on the eve of preparations and implementation planning for the measures for the North Tunnel as the first tunnel. As sub-project leader you will ensure that the work package for this tunnel is carried out integrally and efficiently, together with your team, municipalities, Rijkswaterstaat, the province and other partners.

You are part of the core team, managing a team of about 6 specialists. You report to the project leader who leads ZHB's overall task within the tunnel renovations project.


Your role as sub-project leader:
  • Draft the project plan and manage the project team in terms of content and process;
  • Coordinate measures in communication, traffic management, mobility and planning;
  • Monitor progress, finances and risks and report to the client;
  • Maintain active contact with relevant stakeholders such as municipalities, businesses and security region;
  • Translate ZHB's ambitions into achievable and supported results in the area.

What are you taking with you?
  • HBO working and thinking level;
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable work experience in a manager and/or project leader position in adjacent areas such as mobility, logistics, supply chain or similar.
  • Knowledge of traffic management and nuisance mitigation during work activities;
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a political-administrative context;
  • You are results-oriented, connecting, stress-resistant and communicatively strong.
  • Experience with Smart Travel approaches or RWS projects is a plus.
