As a medior communications advisor, you will work in a unique partnership of eight governments and organizations. A challenging role in which you expand your network and contribute directly to the accessibility and livability of Zuid-Holland. 

Who is ZHB? 

Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is a collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Department of Public Works, the Province of South Holland, the municipality of The Hague, the municipality of Rotterdam, Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ProRail. 

Our main task is to improve accessibility in South Holland. To achieve this, we and our partners ensure that disruption during works is limited and we contribute to the sustainable mobility transition. We have about 100 people working at ZHB. That's a permanent base of about 30 employees and about 70 people in a flexible shell. The communications team consists of 6 - 7 consultants.  

What will you do? 

As a medior communications consultant, you will translate strategy into concrete communication plans and resources. You will work closely with a senior colleague in an area or project, but will also be given room to run projects independently. Think of public campaigns, content for website and social media or communication around mobility projects. You make complex subjects understandable and appealing to different target groups, from residents and travelers to governments and cooperation partners. In doing so, you will contribute directly to the visibility and positioning of ZHB. 

 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement communication plans (independently or with a senior). 

  • Writing and editing texts for website, newsletter, social media and other resources. 

  • Translate complex content into clear and accessible communication. 

  • Collaborate on public campaigns and communication approaches within projects. 

  • Analyze and improve the effectiveness of communication tools. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues, project leaders and partners to strengthen communications. 

  • Contribute to internal and external meetings. 

 

 Job Requirements  

  • A completed college education toward communication.  

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience as a communications consultant. 

  • Experience developing and analyzing content for different channels and audiences. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Skill with CMS systems and online communication tools. 

 

Good to know 

  1. 32 hours, negotiable schedule. 

  1. Present at location Delft and/or Rotterdam, (from January 1, Schiedam) approx. 1-2 days per week, otherwise working from home, hybrid. 

  1. Hired for minimum period of one year; 2x extension possible.
