Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar (ZHB) is looking for a Project Manager who enjoys working on projects that make a visible difference for residents, businesses, and travelers. You’ll have the opportunity to independently lead projects within South Holland. This is a challenging role in which you’ll maintain an overview, build connections between partners, and ensure that work is planned and executed smoothly and in a coordinated manner.
Upon completion of these projects or when new assignments arise within the regional approach, there is the possibility of moving on to other projects within ZHB.

Together with partners including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Rijkswaterstaat, the Province of Zuid-Holland, the municipalities of The Hague and Rotterdam, the Rotterdam-The Hague Metropolitan Region (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority, ProRail, and the Drechtsteden, we work daily on smart solutions for mobility and accessibility.

What will you be doing?
You’ll independently take the lead in implementing this area-specific project. This project focuses on minimizing disruption and promoting sustainable travel behavior during the bridge’s renovation and maintenance work. As project manager, you’ll be responsible for implementation—preferably by coordinating multiple high-impact disruption projects—and you’ll link this effort to a regional program currently under development, maintain close contact with the municipalities and stakeholders in the region, and ensure that the work contributes to ZHB’s broader objectives. You’ll serve as the connecting link between policy and implementation. With your big-picture perspective, strong communication skills, and solution-oriented approach, you will contribute to the success of both projects and ZHB’s area-focused strategy. Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading the project and being responsible for the daily management and progress of project phases.
- Coordinate communication, traffic management, mobility and planning measures within the subprojects.
- Ensure proper preparation and coordination of work with municipalities, safety regions, companies and contractors.
- Monitor progress, budgets, quality and risks; identify bottlenecks and make timely adjustments.
- Translate policy goals and area ambitions into concrete and feasible measures.
- Prepare project plans, progress reports and decision lists for client and project management.
- Encourage collaboration within project and area teams and connecting interests of different partners.
- Contribute to the professionalization of project work within Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar.
- College level of work and thinking.
- At least 5 years of experience as a (partial) project leader within mobility, infrastructure or government projects.
- Knowledge of traffic management and nuisance mitigation during work activities.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a political-administrative context.
- You are results-oriented, connecting, stress-resistant and communicatively strong.
- Experience with Smart Travel approaches or Department of Public Works projects is a plus.
