Would you like to contribute to improving accessibility in South Holland? Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar (ZHB) is looking for a Project Manager who enjoys working on projects that make a visible difference for residents, businesses, and travelers. You will have the opportunity to independently manage projects within South Holland. This is a challenging project in which you will maintain an overview, establish connections between partners, and ensure that the work is prepared and carried out smoothly and coherently.

Upon completion of these projects or with new assignments within the area approach, there is the possibility of moving on to other projects within ZHB.

Who is ZHB?
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is a collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Department of Public Works, the Province of South Holland, the municipality of The Hague, the municipality of Rotterdam, Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ProRail.

Our main task is to improve accessibility in South Holland. To achieve this, we and our partners ensure that disruption during works is limited and we contribute to the sustainable mobility transition. We have about 100 people working at ZHB. That's a permanent base of about 30 employees and about 70 people in a flexible shell.

What will you do?
You will independently take charge of the implementation of this area-specific project. This project focuses on limiting disruption and encouraging sustainable travel behavior during the renovation and maintenance work on the bridge. As project leader, you will be responsible for the implementation, preferably by coordinating several high-impact nuisance projects, and you will establish links with an area program that is currently under development, maintain close contact with the municipalities and parties involved in the region, and ensure that the work contributes to the broader objectives of ZHB. You will act as the connecting link between policy and implementation. With your overview, communication skills, and solution-oriented approach, you will contribute to the success of both projects and ZHB's area-specific approach. We would like to see this reflected in your motivation letter.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Leading the project and being responsible for the daily management and progress of project phases.
  • Coordinate communication, traffic management, mobility and planning measures within the subprojects.
  • Ensure proper preparation and coordination of work with municipalities, safety regions, companies and contractors.
  • Monitor progress, budgets, quality and risks; identify bottlenecks and make timely adjustments.
  • Translate policy goals and area ambitions into concrete and feasible measures.
  • Prepare project plans, progress reports and decision lists for client and project management.
  • Encourage collaboration within project and area teams and connecting interests of different partners.
  • Contribute to the professionalization of project work within Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar.

Job Requirements
  • HBO working and thinking level.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a (partial) project leader within mobility, infrastructure or government projects.
  • Knowledge of traffic management and nuisance mitigation during work activities.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a political-administrative context.
  • You are results-oriented, connecting, stress-resistant and communicatively strong.
  • Experience with Smart Travel approaches or Department of Public Works projects is a plus.
