Do you want to contribute to making South Holland more accessible? Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar (ZHB) is looking for a Project Leader who enjoys working on projects that make a visible difference for residents, businesses and travelers. You will have the opportunity to independently lead the Suurhof Bridge project on the Zuid-Holland Islands and Port. A challenging project in which you maintain an overview, make connections between partners and ensure that the work is prepared and executed smoothly and coherently.

Upon completion of these projects or with new assignments within the area approach, there is the possibility of moving on to other projects within ZHB.

Who is ZHB?
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is a collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Department of Public Works, the Province of South Holland, the municipality of The Hague, the municipality of Rotterdam, Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ProRail.

Our main task is to improve accessibility in South Holland. To achieve this, we and our partners ensure that disruption during works is limited and we contribute to the sustainable mobility transition. We have about 100 people working at ZHB. That's a permanent base of about 30 employees and about 70 people in a flexible shell.

What will you do?
For the Suurhof Bridge project, you will independently take charge of the implementation of this area-oriented project on the South Holland Islands and Port. This project focuses on limiting disruption and encouraging sustainable travel behavior during the renovation and maintenance work on the bridge. As project leader, you will be responsible for the implementation, preferably through coherence of multiple impactful nuisance projects and you will connect with an area program that is under development, maintain close contacts with the municipalities and parties involved in the region and ensure that the work contributes to the broader goals of ZHB. You act as the connecting link between policy and implementation. With your overview, communicative strength and solution-oriented attitude, you will contribute to the success of both projects and the area-oriented approach of ZHB. We would like to read this in your motivation.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead the Suurhof Bridge Renewal project (South Holland Islands and Port) and be responsible for the daily management and progress of project phases.
  • Coordinate communication, traffic management, mobility and planning measures within the subprojects.
  • Ensure proper preparation and coordination of work with municipalities, safety regions, companies and contractors.
  • Monitor progress, budgets, quality and risks; identify bottlenecks and make timely adjustments.
  • Translate policy goals and area ambitions into concrete and feasible measures.
  • Prepare project plans, progress reports and decision lists for client and project management.
  • Encourage collaboration within project and area teams and connecting interests of different partners.
  • Contribute to the professionalization of project work within Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar.

Job Requirements
  • College level of work and thinking.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a (partial) project leader within mobility, infrastructure or government projects.
  • Knowledge of traffic management and nuisance mitigation during work activities.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a political-administrative context.
  • You are results-oriented, connecting, stress-resistant and communicatively strong.
  • Experience with Smart Travel approaches or Department of Public Works projects is a plus.
