Who is ZHB?
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar is a collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Department of Public Works, the Province of South Holland, the municipality of The Hague, the municipality of Rotterdam, Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ProRail.
Our main task is to improve accessibility and livability in South Holland. To achieve this, we and our partners ensure that disruption during works is limited and we contribute to the sustainable mobility transition. We have about 100 people working at ZHB. That's a permanent base of about 30 employees and about 70 people in a flexible shell.

What will you do?
You will rotate in the communications team of 5 people consisting of 2 seniors and 3 medior/junior colleagues. You will be responsible for own projects ZHB-wide such as the public campaign and the website and manage the online communication. Also, together with a junior communications consultant, you are responsible for communications and projects in the South Holland Islands area and the port area. Maybe you know our approach? For the renovation of the Spijkenisse Bridge and the Heinenoord Tunnel, we developed the communication about the mobility measures on, for example, bicycle actions, public transport options, a (temporary) bicycle ferry and home office actions. Duties and responsibilities
  • Together with the 2 other senior communications advisors, you will provide direction to the team and priorities for communications.
  • Guiding the journey with all ZHB partners toward a joint public campaign and rolling it out across South Holland.
  • Continuing to develop the joint website and ensuring that it remains up-to-date.
  • Together with a junior communications consultant, you will build communications in the South Holland Islands and Port area and work on communications in projects in this area.
  • Within ZHB, you will support the logistics consultants from communications.
  • Regular consultations with partners in the area are organized. Together with the 2 other senior communication advisors you will organize and prepare once a month a communication meeting with all partners in the area (administrative and official).

Skills and qualifications
  • You are experienced, pick up new material quickly and see through what approach is needed in an area.
  • You are consultative, collaborative and connecting.
  • You are action-oriented: at ZHB, all senior advisors also work in implementation.
  • You have knowledge of the port area and the South Holland Islands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • You are problem-solving, analytical and stress-resistant.


Job Requirements
  • A completed college education, in the field of communications.
  • Minimum 3 years or more work experience as a senior communications consultant.
  • Experience with CMS systems and tools such as LaPosta.

Good to know
  • 32 hours, negotiable schedule.
  • Present at location Delft and/or Rotterdam approx. 1 day per week, otherwise working from home, hybrid.
  • Hired for minimum period of six months; extension possible.
