Would you like to use your communication talent in an organization where there is still plenty of room to build and develop? At Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar (ZHB) you will have that opportunity. As a medior communications advisor, you will work in a unique partnership of eight governments and organizations. A challenging role in which you expand your network and contribute directly to the accessibility and livability of Zuid-Holland.

Who is ZHB?
Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar (ZHB) is a partnership between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Rijkswaterstaat, the Province of South Holland, the municipalities of The Hague and Rotterdam, the Metropolitan Region of The Hague Rotterdam (MRDH), the Port of Rotterdam Authority, and ProRail. It was recently decided that the Drechtsteden region will join the partnership this year.

Our main task is to reduce nuisance, promote mobility transition, spread rush hour traffic, and avoid congestion through an area-specific approach in South Holland. To achieve this, we work with our partners to ensure that nuisance during construction work is kept to a minimum and contribute to structural behavioral change and a sustainable mobility transition. Approximately 100 people work at ZHB. This consists of a permanent staff of around 30 employees and a flexible workforce of around 70 people. The communications team consists of 6-7 advisors.

What will you do?
As a mid-level communications advisor, you translate strategy into concrete communication plans and resources. You work closely with a senior colleague in a specific area or project, but you also have the freedom to run projects independently. These include public campaigns, content for websites and social media, and communications related to mobility projects. You make complex topics understandable and appealing to different target groups, from residents and travelers to governments and partners. In doing so, you contribute directly to the visibility and positioning of ZHB.

In addition, you will play an important role in further professionalizing the communications team through the use of AI tools. You will help the team to set up applications such as Microsoft Copilot and use them in their daily work. This includes, for example, creating content or analyzing communication results. Naturally, you will work within the guidelines that apply to government organizations and in collaboration with colleagues.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication plans (independently or with a senior).
  • Translate complex content into clear and accessible communication.
  • Pick up and further develop the use of AI tools within the communications team, such as Microsoft Copilot, to organize communications work in a smarter and more efficient way.
  • Writing and editing texts for website, newsletter, social media and other resources.
  • Collaborate on public campaigns and communication approaches within projects.
  • Analyze and improve the effectiveness of communication tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, project leaders and partners to strengthen communications.
  • Contribute to internal and external meetings.

Job Requirements
  • A completed college education toward communication.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience as a communications consultant.
  • Experience developing and analyzing content for different channels and audiences.
  • Affinity with or experience using AI tools in communication, such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill with CMS systems and online communication tools.

Good to know
- 24-
32 hours, negotiable schedule.
- Present at our location right next to Schiedam Central Station approx. 1-2 days per week, otherwise working from home and occasionally attending meetings on location (e.g. Dordrecht), hybrid.
- Hiring for a minimum period of one year; 2x renewal possible.
