About the role
, Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands is looking for a Facility Management Coordinator to support the coordination and implementation of the setup of a new office environment in Leiden.

The role focuses on the operational, facility, and physical setup of the assigned office space. The basic infrastructure—including partition walls, flooring, and lighting—is already in place. You will be responsible for coordinating the remaining fit-out activities, including the office layout, furniture, meeting and demonstration rooms, the IT/server room, security measures, IT connectivity, and the physical relocation to the new office environment.

You will work closely with employees, the project owner, IT, and external suppliers. The role requires a hands-on and pragmatic approach, as well as strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Your role and responsibilities
As Facility Management Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate the overall setup and fit-out of the office space;
  • Determine the required workplace capacity based on current and projected headcount;
  • Coordinate the office layout, including workspaces, meeting rooms, a demonstration room, and an IT/server room;
  • Coordinate suppliers and contractors involved in furniture, finishing, and meeting/demonstration room installations;
  • Coordinate the setup of the IT/server room, including cooling requirements;
  • Coordinate IT connectivity and facility requirements with the internal IT team and relevant suppliers;
  • Coordinate the implementation of physical security measures;
  • Prepare and manage the relocation plan for IT equipment, furniture, and the demonstration room;
  • Coordinate the physical move to the new office space;
  • Maintain the project plan and monitor progress, quality, risks, dependencies, and budget;
  • Identify potential issues and bottlenecks and proactively coordinate appropriate solutions;
  • Communicate clearly with employees and stakeholders regarding planning, impact, and progress;
  • Work closely with IT, Security, Real Estate, Procurement, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers.

Your profile
: You are an experienced and pragmatic project coordinator who is comfortable taking ownership of facility, workplace, or relocation projects within a complex organizational environment.

You bring:

  • A completed MBO or HBO degree, preferably in a technical, facility management, or business-related field;
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a project coordinator, project leader, or facility coordinator;
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating facility, workplace, office fit-out, relocation, or housing projects;
  • Experience coordinating multiple activities, suppliers, and stakeholders simultaneously;
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills;
  • Experience with stakeholder management across various disciplines, preferably including IT and facilities;
  • A hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset;
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch, both written and spoken;
  • A good command of English is a major plus;
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables;
  • Experience managing budgets, risks, dependencies, and project timelines.

Experience in a complex corporate, technical, or high-tech environment is considered a plus. Experience in the aerospace or space industry is not required.
