The Gas Team Leader position within the Team Leader job series has the following result areas:
1. Managing and developing employees
a. The team is optimally structured and staffed to ensure that current and future objectives are achieved.
b. (Social) safety is ensured, and relevant regulations and procedures are followed.
c. Employees are developed and able to perform to the best of their ability.
2. Setting and Achieving Objectives
a. A contribution has been made to Alliander’s strategic mission in such a way that the department’s quality and performance have been optimized.
b. Plans have been prepared and implemented in such a way that concrete objectives have been formulated and achieved.
3. Optimizing processes
a. Processes have been improved, ensuring that work is organized and carried out in an innovative, efficient, and effective manner, both within the team and across the supply chain.
4. Safeguarding, Improving, and Transferring Knowledge
a. Knowledge and skills are maintained at a level that enables goals to be achieved.
b. Leadership competencies have been developed to the extent that helpful and unhelpful behaviors are recognized and addressed through coaching.
c. A contribution has been made to safeguarding knowledge within the organization.
Scope and extent:
- Provides hierarchical leadership to a diverse team with a specialized professional focus and of an operational and/or tactical nature.
- Leads employees who primarily possess a higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking.
- Medium-term objectives.
- Leads projects.
Optimizing work processes:
- Prepares the implementation of plans within their own area of focus and provides input for tactical policy.
- Plays a leading role in initiating improvement proposals as well as implementing and monitoring them (both within the supply chain and across the supply chain).
- Acts as a business owner when necessary.
- Is jointly responsible for an integrated and structured approach to adopting changes within the team.
Responsibility and decision-making authority:
- Is authorized to make decisions regarding the implementation of objectives for their own unit within established frameworks.
- Influences the tactical policy to be developed for their own organizational unit.
- Influences and monitors the budget. Identifies deviations and responds to them.
- Has decision-making authority involving a high operational risk of failure.
Stakeholder Management:
- Advises, negotiates, and/or defends plans at the tactical level where divergent and conflicting interests must be reconciled.
- Builds support, influences, and persuades in internal and external meetings (for example, as a member of the Management Team).
- Has the mandate and responsibility for the outcomes within the established frameworks during internal and external consultations at the tactical level.
- Acts as a sparring partner for management and executive leadership.
What qualifications are required?
- At least 8 yearsof experienceas a team leader in the production/energy sector
- Affinity with the energy sector
- Experience with annual planning
- Experience with natural gas
- Ability to collaborate with the team and contractors
- Ability to quickly connect with the team and maintain a focus on the team.
- The team consists of approximately 23 people.
