About BIJ12 and IPO
BIJ12, part of the Interprovinciaal Overleg (IPO), is the knowledge partner for provinces. We bundle information and expertise about the rural area and the physical environment in the Netherlands. Our focus is on uniformity in the provision of information and the effective implementation of provincial regulations. Professionalism, a focus on results and cooperation are central to us. Want to know more? Visit www.bij12.nl or browse through our introductory brochure.
About the ACSG
When water is extracted from or infiltrated into the soil, the groundwater level can change, causing damage to agricultural crops and buildings. This happens, for example, when drinking water is extracted, industrial groundwater extraction and well drilling. The Advisory Committee on Groundwater Damage (ACSG) investigates this damage on behalf of the 12 provinces and issues independent advice. The secretariat of the ACSG, which falls under BIJ12, offers substantive and administrative support in this. Due to the departure of one of our advisors, we are looking for a colleague who can support the ACSG, especially in the field of modeling.
Your responsibilities:
  • Supervise external groundwater modeling and coordination with fellow consultants and ACSG members.
  • Function as a sparring partner for colleagues in the field of groundwater modeling.
  • Communication with committee members about important choices regarding groundwater modeling.
Furthermore, you have:
  • Academic work and thinking level with a graduate degree in hydrology, water resource management, earth science or physical geography.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in geohydrology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with regional groundwater modeling
  • Knowledge of agricultural or building damage is a plus

Option to extend: 4 x 6 months
