Assignment (Senior) policy advisor Public Health (PG)

Assignment description:
As (senior) policy advisor Public Health (PG) you make a crucial contribution to the development and implementation of strategic and tactical policy within the General Health Department (AGZ) at GGD Twente (GGD means: Joint Health Service). The tactical policy indicates the concrete implementation of the determined / yet to be determined strategy, of which at the strategic level only the main lines are determined in terms of direction and resources to be deployed.

You work from a contemporary vision of public health, in which health is more than the absence of disease. The joint focus is on increasing the resilience and resilience of individuals and society, with the aim of reducing healthcare use. Our work aims to promote, strengthen and improve public health. By helping people make healthy choices and preventing them from becoming ill. This is how we work towards a healthy Twente society and a healthy living environment.

From a broad vision we give substance to the policy. SamenTwente works from a contemporary vision of public health. Being healthy is more than not being sick. Being healthy is also participating in society, having social contacts and being able to experience a sense of control over your own life.

Main responsibilities:

- Project management: advise and facilitate the compilation of interim reports and annual plans and ensure good coordination between different parts within the department and possibly organization. You will work on a strong policy cycle and ensure the implementation of the AGZ's vision for public health.
- Innovation: looking for innovative solutions to the social tasks in the field of health, but also steering them (through business intelligence), with a strategic and process-oriented approach.
- Policy development: together with the manager, team leaders and business controller, you take the initiative to (further) develop strategic policy. You translate policy frameworks into practical collaborations and strengthen them.
- Strategic advice: advise on various themes and current developments within public health. You act as a sparring partner for the manager AGZ and team leaders.

Education and experience:

- HBO working and thinking level with several years of experience in a similar position, preferably with a joint arrangement or similar.
- Content knowledge: knowledge in the field of public health.
- Experience with developing and implementing policy, as well as analyzing and interpreting data to support (strategic) decisions.
- Experience with business and intelligence and Enterprise Architecture is a plus.
- Skills: good strategic and communication skills, strong networking skills and the ability to deal well with resistance. You are a connector with managerial sensitivity and process skills.
- Personal characteristics: confident, positive, solution-oriented and flexible. You can switch well between different options and consider the consequences of your actions before taking action.
