Role description and task arrangements

Interim Team Leader Front Office at municipality of Aa and Hunze (temporary assignment) PLEASE NOTE: ONLY DETACH
32 hours / Gieten / 6 months 


Due to the departure of the current Front Office team leader, we are looking for an experienced interim team leader to temporarily lead the current team until the vacancy is refilled. This is a challenging role within a team that is in transition. On the one hand, this transition has to do with an earlier problem situation within the team that led to certain tensions, on which a recovery-oriented process was initiated with external guidance. In addition, the transition has to do with the formation of a new Service Center (as part of the team) as part of an organization-wide Services program. 

The responsibility of the interim team leader Front Office is to manage and supervise two subteams, namely the employees who fall under Burgerzaken and the employees who will be part of the future Service Center. The focus is on people-oriented and coaching leadership, paying attention to cooperation and work processes within a developing team. The responsibility for the overall design of the Service Center is currently placed elsewhere in the organization as part of the Services program.
 
In addition, as team leader you are part of the management team (consisting of the joint team leaders and the management team), where you actively contribute ideas on organization-wide themes. In addition to your team responsibility, you can occasionally, on request, fulfill the role of official client for projects that go beyond your own field of expertise. You will monitor progress, coherence and administrative coordination, always with an eye for the bigger picture. In addition to this profile, we require the following:
 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Balancing different interests during the transition period.
  • Provide direction on quality and results within organizational processes.
  • Support the team in dealing with areas of concern and strengthening cooperation, without direct responsibility for the future Service Center.
  • Preparing for the future filling of the Front Office team leader position.
  • Actively contribute to organization-wide themes as a member of management team.
  • Occasionally act as official principal on projects outside its own area of expertise, monitoring progress, consistency and administrative coordination.
 
Desired experience and competencies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a municipal context.
  • Knowledge of business operations and preferably service delivery within municipal organizations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in change.
  • Strong communication skills and results orientation.
  • Understanding of organization-wide processes and managerial relationships.
