The municipality of Coevorden is looking for a driven and innovative Strategist. This is your chance to make a difference!

The position in the organization
This position is part of the newly formed strategic staff, where you will fall directly under the group manager.
This should contribute to strengthening the strategic thinking and clout in the (changing) organization.
It helps to strengthen the administrative-official interplay.

 

The function

As strategist regional cooperation & lobby, you play a crucial role in our organization. You provide direction and input for regional development in South and East Drenthe and represent the ambitions of Coevorden. You use the regional, provincial and national networks to achieve these ambitions. You know how to acquire subsidies and funds to contribute to the future of Coevorden and the region of South and East Drenthe. Internally, you know how to make the right connections to other initiatives, programs and resources.

You will advise the board and the official organization, and work with administrators and colleagues to strengthen Coevorden's position in the region and promote the interests of our municipality. By actively pursuing Coevorden's direction, you contribute to shaping the challenges Coevorden faces. You are a connector and sparring partner for colleagues, both inside and outside Coevorden.

Strategic Advice: You are concerned with political, administrative and social developments and advise on the long-term strategy of the municipality. You also contribute to the board and corporate program.


Regional Positioning: You will develop the strategic and tactical positioning of Coevorden within the province, region and across borders.

Networking: You liaise with key internal and external partners.

Cooperation: You work closely with colleagues, partners and other authorities. You ensure connection with different domains and establish cross-links in them.

In this role, you are a strategic thinker and a true connector, who knows how to promote and strengthen the interests of the Municipality of Coevorden at various levels.


Our ideal candidate

  • You have a WO working and thinking level, preferably with a background in public administration, political science or communications.
  • You have a keen eye for the big picture and connections; you can grasp complex issues quickly.
  • Working experience in a complex environment is a plus.
  • You write clearly and understandably (B1 level) and ensure that your texts are always correct and comply with laws and regulations.
  • You have a good sense of what is going on in the environment, make connections and enjoy taking the initiative.
  • You can effectively support administrative and official interplay in this area.
  • You can link an organization-wide strategy to day-to-day actions across all teams and clusters.
  • You have experience with various municipal networks
  • Experience at the regional level
