Role description and task arrangements

Budget Manager

As an employee in budget management you stabilize and manage the income and expenses of residents who are unable to do so themselves. In this way you help households out of financial problems and prevent clients from relapsing into their old behavior. You guide clients towards financial independence. And you work together with the customer with the aim of giving the customer (again) insight and control over their own financial situation, so that in the future they can manage their financial household independently and without debts. To carry out the management, you will be in contact with the client in various ways. You identify underlying problems and maintain contact with creditors and assistance agencies. Where necessary you will refer the client. 

You prepare budget plans in consultation with clients and record their details in the computerized system. You take care of the payment of living expenses, fixed expenses, reservations and variable expenses on behalf of the client. In addition, you hold discussions with clients about daily financial problems and discuss the possibilities of eventually managing their income independently again. You prepare clients to manage their financial household independently and provide information about existing material and immaterial facilities, referring them to specialized assistance institutions if necessary. In addition, you provide budget training to groups. 

About you: 

You are flexible, collegial, stress resistant and result and solution oriented. You have an eye for the specific problems of our clients, but know how to combine this with a businesslike attitude. You dare to take decisions and initiatives independently and have excellent oral and written communication skills. You have a feel for figures and work accurately. And also important: You can put situations into perspective and see them in a positive light, even in challenging situations.   

You actively keep up with current developments in our field and, based on your knowledge and experience, you contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of our services. Finally, you are willing to work both at our office in Deventer and on location in Kampen. 

 

You possess:  

  • hbo working and thinking level, demonstrable by your education (HBO-SJD, HBO-MWD, HBO Social Work); 

  • At least two years of experience as a budget administrator 

  • Experience in individual interviewing; 

  • At least 1 year of experience working with our software package Allegro  

 

The team  

The BAD is the professional organization for professional, independent and objective budget information. For help in preventing, structurally solving and managing money worries and social credit in Deventer. The BAD employs about 70 people. In different function groups (stabilization & debt settlement,early signaling & prevention, budget management, administration, WSNP-possession, Kredietbank) and in a number of projects, such as the support of victims of the Benefits Affair.
