Role description and task arrangements

On November 10, 2022, the Minister of I&W decided to start the MIRT exploration of the Old Line. Schiedam Center Station is one of the public transport hubs in this study, which is expected to last 2 years. Gemeente Schiedam is looking for experienced support of the general project manager for the implementation of the Schiedam sub-study in the MIRT exploration.
We are looking for an experienced duo consisting of
  1. Process manager MIRT exploration Schiedam and a
  2. Project manager MIRT exploration Schiedam

Required competencies, knowledge and experience:
  • Education level HBO/WO;
  • Seniority (substantive and process); decisive; have and exude calm and overview; analytical; consultative; proactive; hands on.
  • Relevant experience with the MoVe program
  • Extensive experience with the official networks of the state, MRDH, NS, ProRail and regional carriers
  • Relevant and demonstrable experience (evidenced by at least 3 references) as a project manager, process manager or strategic advisor of MIRT explorations on public transport and urbanization, working with national, regional, municipal and rail parties.
  • Knowledge of the functioning (activities, role and responsibilities) of (rail) public transport parties.
  • Experience as a process manager with similar intersections on the Old Line and the specific integrality of accessibility and urbanization is an advantage.

Assignment:
The process manager is responsible for the integral process for intersection Schiedam within the framework of the MIRT-Verkenning Oude Lijn. The focus is on ensuring that the substantive components from the plan of approach that has now been adopted are implemented. This must lead to integral designs that are assessed and prepared in terms of decision-making. This also includes translating and implementing the choices made by the Project Team of stakeholders in the Schiedam Center public transport hub regarding the content, pace and direction of the MIRT Schiedam study. The Process Manager is the sparring partner of the general project manager Schiedam intersection and the Project Manager.


Duties:
  • Chairing and preparing the core team
  • Prepare and support the project team as the right hand of the municipality's general project manager
  • Preparing input for the Project Team-Large (the periodic consultation of the nodes, regional governments and ministries), in consultation with project manager and project team
  • Driving planning, risks and management measures
  • Coordination with project manager on administrative decision-making at municipality, NS, ProRail, MRDH and RET
  • Directing the consulting and engineering firms to be hired on behalf of the core team 
  • Ensuring that substantive working groups (such as those on bus station, car and bicycle parking, walking flows & transfer capacity, integrated design and participation/environmental management) deliver the intended products in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring delivery of the Memorandum of Preferred Alternative (VKA) and the necessary administrative and financial agreements regarding the Schiedam interchange part of the MIRT exploration of the Old Line.
